Typical Tuesday At The Groceries
A downloadable game
Typical Tuesday at the Groceries was a game concept designed for Bitter Sails Game Jam in January 2024. Our team has created a maze through a grocery store where you must collect your items before exiting at the cash registers. Find all your items, and you can finally leave the store!
As a team for most of us, this was our first time using UnReal Engine and working in the game design pipeline. We've tried our hardest to work through an unknown program and design a cohesive game for others to enjoy.
Controls:
Press WASD on the keyboard to move the character around.
Press E to pick up items.

Such a cute game! Nice and smooth movements, easy to navigate and figure out controls.
Some suggestions if you expand on this at all
- A walking sound effect would be fun
- A grocery list to follow and changes every level - and there are many items to pick up but you can only pick up the items on the list to get to the next level.
- a function to drop items
- a menu so user can pause/exit game
- parking lot outside would be cute!
- interaction with other customers, maybe hints or just silly NPC comments
- end of level checks if correct items/number of items are collected. I was able to "Win" the game with only 3 out of 4 of the items
BONUS: I actually laughed out loud at this NPC ontop of the shelves and another floating infront of an aisle
Great game overall!
